Michael Goddard’s Chapter ‘Genealogies of Immersive Media and Virtual Reality (VR) as Practical Aesthetic Machines’ was published in the edited collection Practical Aesthetics, edited by Bernd Herzogenrath, October, 2020, in the ‘Thinking in the World’ series for Bloomsbury. This was a major and cutting edge collection of chapters about a range of contemporary media arts considered as different modes of practical aesthetics described by Wolfgang Ernst as ‘the academic companion to practice based artistic research’.
