Expanded Photography Research Group is a world leading academic research and study of the diverse and changing role of photography across art and culture. We recognise the importance of its plural history, theory and the diversity of new innovative practices. We actively generate and advocate photographic research through international events, talks, exhibitions and a range of other public facing cultural activities. The expanded photography research area includes themes such as: archives & memory, global photography, expanded documentary, contemporary art, philosophy and aesthetics, virtual photography, sustainable photobooks, and Ai based practices. Members of the group publish, exhibit and present live events, and explore dynamic new territories of photography, theories and practices.
