Dr. Paula Gortázar is a photography researcher, visual artist and Senior Lecturer in Photography. Her research practice investigates recent developments in AI systems and expanded reality technologies and how these are exponentially changing the possibilities in which photographic images might be created and used within, and beyond, virtual space. Her work has been published in several academic journals, including Photographies, Philosophy of Photography, Photography and Culture, Third Text and Fotocinema, and presented at multiple international conferences across the world. She also contributes as an independent writer for Source Photographic Review and C4 Journal.
