Dea Ferraz is a Brazilian researcher, visual artist and filmmaker. She has directed five features, which have been exhibited and awarded prizes at important Latin American festivals. Her recent PhD research questions the hyper-exposure of images and the loss of their poetic power. She is now developing research for her next two works, Second Skin and Tentacular Atlas, which articulate theory and practice, and explore the notions of gesture, body and image, intersecting with the ideas of symbiosis, tentacular bodies, landscape and lacunarity.
