To mark the beginning of the new academic year, we are publishing extracts from a conversation between Guilherme Carréra and Mariana Cunha from the May iteration of Ecological Futurisms. Guilherme Carréra has recently published his first monograph Brazilian Cinema and the Aesthetics of Ruins (Bloomsbury Academic, 2021), based on his PhD at CREAM. The book has since been awarded Best Monograph 2022 by the Portuguese AIM :: Associação de Investigadores da Imagem em Movimento. The conversation took place on 20 May at Ambika P3 and also featured a rare screening of Hu Enigma (Pedro Urano and Joana Traub Csekö, 2011).
