Somerset House Symposium: Matters of Life & Death

A one-day symposium held in association with Julian Stair’s exhibition Julian Stair: Quietus, the Vessel, Death and the Human Body. An interdisciplinary panel discussed themes arising from the exhibition including rituals surrounding death, historical cremation and burial practices, and how contemporary art can be an agent for celebrating life.
