Join us for a talk by Dr Lucy Soutter on her AHRC funded project The Global Photographies Network.
Launched during the pandemic, The Global Photographies Network started out as a platform for photographers, scholars and educators to meet online to share work and ideas. Four years and an AHRC Networking Grant later, the Network has produced a collaborative open access publication with 6 sections addressing questions of cultural translation, photography’s response to climate change, decolonial practices, network formation, new materialities, identities and the role of photobooks. This talk will trace the evolution of the research project and introduce some of its key findings about developments in contemporary photography around the world.
This event is part of CREAM’s 2024 Summer Social taking place in Portland Hall, University of Westminster – Little Titchfield Street Campus and will be followed by Catherine Dormor’s Inaugural Lecturer on textile practices and feminisms. Both lectures are free and open to the public. Find out more and reserve a spot here.
